When participants conduct a project authorized by the RCE, they will ensure adherence to the following principles:
‘Plus one’ principle: Ensure that actions involve taking a step forward towards a new method, field or community.
Remain aware of the RCE’s role as a base for developing partnerships for contributing to the achievement of the United Nations SDGs.
Remain conscious of our responsibility to aim to achieve our SDGs, which are also common goals shared by the rest of the world.
Ensure that RCE activities incorporate the vision of the SDGs.
The required viewpoints for collaborating projects of RCE Hokkaido Central are as follows:
Viewpoints regarding the solving of issues. To ensure high relevance for international and regional society, economics and culture, and to consider environmental conservation and energy resources.
Viewpoints regarding education and the development of human resources. To ensure that projects build upon many small successes and failures of past efforts, and use diverse values to increase their strength.
※ RCE Hokkaido Central recognizes that ‘education’ is as follows. That is, education shall:
・ Not only concern the one-way transmission of knowledge, but also involve mutual learning.
・ Not constitute a goal in itself, but strive to be a means of contributing to societal transformation.
・ Not only take place in schools, but also include learning from social situations and stakeholders.
